Episode 02 - Body Literacy
Recently I was sitting in a circle with a group of friends (outdoors, 6 feet apart).
We each took a turn to share on a certain topic, and when I shared my thought, the friend sitting across from me shifted her body, and gave a soft moan.
Has your body ever zinged on the truth?
Have you ever been moved to tears by a beautiful song?
Have you ever moaned while reading a book because something struck you as profound?
Similarly, have you ever frozen up in a conversation and felt like you couldn't find your voice?
Have you ever lashed out at someone in anger, and while it may have felt good in the moment, left you with an emotional hangover?
Have you ever held back on taking a risk because your heart just couldn't take the fear?
You hear alot these days about the importance of trusting your body.
But how do you know when your body is telling the truth, vs. just responding to a trigger?
How can you sit with strong feelings like grief, anger and sadness, without letting them swallow you whole?
How do you bring more good feelings like joy, pleasure, even ecstasy into your life, without abandoning boundaries, structure and responsibility?
That's exactly what we're exploring in today's new episode of Come To Your Senses.
In this episode you’ll learn about:
How to expand your emotional intelligence by working with the sensations of your body
How to be with strong sensation and emotion, rather than become possessed by them
How to stop fighting the messages of your body, and instead, establish a loving and respectful rapport with it
5 ways to feel your feelings without dwelling in them
How to use the sensations of your body to build rich intimacy with yourself and others, acting less from the voice of your ego and more your soul
Here’s to connecting with the oracle inside!
Love,
M
