My Fighting Mantra

Last night during a difficult conversation I felt my heart closing up.

I heard these words reverberate through my mind:

“Put down your sword, pick up a flower.”

I had read them on an Alena Hennessy painting.

I repeated this phrase like a mantra as I visualized it strongly.  I put down the sword of being "right" and I picked up the flower.

I felt myself soften.

The flower kept me tethered to my heart, even when the sword of my mind wanted to interject with fear and arrogance.

What a gift beauty is, teaching us without words how to soften, how to love.

Drop a heart or a flower in the comments here if you too believe that #beautyheals.

Love,

Mary

P.S. - Healing through beauty is one of the core themes of my upcoming Fall Sensual Living Retreat.

Through movement, art, styling, shopping, powerful rituals and heartfelt connections, you'll reset your body and learn to use beauty as a mindfulness practice, a somatic form of self care.

Private rooms are SOLD OUT but we still have a few shared spots left.  Click here to join us at the Sensual Living Retreat November 6-10th in Asheville, North Carolina.
