During class someone asked a brilliant question: 

"I know how to do embodiment practices to make myself feel good.  But during my busy season I work 20-hour days.  How do I stay embodied then?” 

Such a brilliant question. 

One I hear it all the time. 

As a coach I’m always listening for the question beneath the question.

In this case I hear: “How do I change how awful this feels when I can’t change the thing itself?”  

I have no doubt that every fiber of this precious woman’s being wants this situation to change.

But when the overwhelmed, fight or flight mind is running the show, it seriously narrows the possibilities.

Embodiment practices are powerful and essential. 

But they are not what creates change. 

Change comes from making embodied decisions. 

When it comes to your goals, you have probably made decisions to make big changes in your life once or twice.

You do great with them for anywhere from three days to two weeks.

And then, after the initial adrenaline surge wears off, you feel as deflated as a NYE noisemaker in March.

Being successful with goals starts with the kind of goals you choose.

When you choose from the habitual mind, you usually end up spinning in circles.

But when you choose a goal from your full system of intelligence, the whole world opens up.
